MENTONE HOSTEL

At the beginning of 2006, Mentone opened its doors for boys from Klein Boishaai
and girls from Girls High School.
This is already the fourth year that Klein Boishaai has an official hostel.
At present, we house 15 primary school boys, 5 High School boys and 10 High
School girls - a total of 30 children in Mentone.
Our boys come from as far as Zambia, Carnavon and Sutherland. Our food is
prepared by the catering firm,
Feedem Pitseng. Our matron is Elmarie Knörr who has been in this position
since the boarding house began.
The head of the hostel is Mr. Waldo Cloete and he ensures that sufficient
studying is done and that everyone eats their greens!
This restored home, with its spacious bedrooms and homely atmosphere, has the
opportunity of belonging to these traditional school and adding to pleasurable
experiences.
The house is centrally situated within walking distance from both schools and
their sports facilities.
Excellent security, a swimming pool and three tasty meals add to a pleasant
learning environment.
There is full-time adult supervision as well as the presence of our "hostel
mother". These people ensure that the same rules and regulations that
apply to Girls High School and Boys High School are implemented at Mentone
Hostel.
Fees are in line with other hostels in the area and are available on request.
The hostel houses boys from grades 6 and 7 and girls from the high school.

ADMISSION:
Admission to Mentone Hostel is obtained by following these procedures:
• Admission to Klein Boishaai (Via Mr.
Arangies)
• Admission to Girls High School (Via Mrs. Colyn)
• Interview with Mr. D. Swart of HJS
• Admission through the Hostel Management
