A message from
the Headmaster
For more than 138 years (55 years being at Devine Street) teachers have been
preparing boys for leadership roles in society through excellent academic
training, a full roster of extra-curricular sports and societies and a
commitment to an enriched and relevant curriculum within an extended day of
activity.
The fine reputation of our school is built on the efforts of pupils, parents and
staff, both past and present. Our future depends on the continued efforts
of those with us, and those still to come. With the many changes taking
place in South African education a number of us have felt concern about the
future of PAARL BOYS' PRIMARY and of the pupils. They new South African
Schools Act settles this issue, the power to determine admission, fees,
governance and curricula resides with the governing body of each school.
In effect, the education of our boys is placed in the hands of our staff and
parents.
During the past 13 years Paarl Boys' School established itself as one of the top
schools in the country in technology and teaching.
The time has come to look ahead to the future of PAARL BOYS' PRIMARY and of the
pupils. We need to plan carefully for the new facilities required in order
to face the 21st century confident of maintaining our high standards and ideals
in every facet of education. It is time once again for PAARL BOYS' PRIMARY
to take the lead in a positive and bold move to embrace the challenges of the
future.
We appeal to you - friends of PAARL BOYS' PRIMARY - to support this fundraising
initiative.
