Our chess has got off to a good start this year. The
boys are enthusiastic and eager to play and learn. We have two groups of
players. The advanced group plays on Thursdays from 2:00 until 3:00 and the
beginners start their practice from 3:00 until 3:45.
The first round of the Central Boland Chess trials were held at Huguenot Primary
School on the 13th of March. Nine of our boys took part and played
extremely well. The second round will be held at Stellenbosch Primary
School in the second term. Our chess league begins in the second term and
we will be writing in an A & B team.
Next term we will be holding a chess workshop for interested boys on a Monday
evening between 6:00 and 7:00.
