Our chess has got off to a good start this year. The
boys are enthusiastic and eager to play and learn. We have two groups of
players. The advanced group plays on Thursdays from 2:00 until 3:00 and the
beginners start their practice from 3:00 until 3:45. We
started off the year with about 30 young players.
The first round of the Central Boland Chess trials will be held
on the 7th of May 2011 at Courtrai Primary School and the
second round will take place on the 21st of May 2011 in Stellenbosch.
Our chess league begins in the second term and
we will be writing in an A & B team.
